Troy Coughlin is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier this weekend. The team went straight to Route 66 Raceway to begin preparing for the Car Quest NHRA Nationals after the rain delayed event in Memphis. Troy Coughlin has scored back-to-back runner up finishes at Route 66 Raceway in 1999 and 2000. "We have been close to winning at this event in the past," commented Troy. "We just need to stay focused and stick to our game plan. Our engine shop has been giving us more horsepower and we are doing a better job finding the right set up at the track. We learned a lot last weekend in Memphis and made our best run of the weekend in the heat of the day during the final session. We missed the field by .003 seconds, but we were the fifth quickest car of the session. Our game plan is to run good right out of the trailer so we can spend our time fine tuning our set up through qualifying." Troy will enter the 20th event of the 2003 season sitting in the No. 16 position in the NHRA POWERade championship. He has 447 points and is focused on making some noise to close out the season. "We are heading down the home stretch of the 2003 NHRA POWERade season," said Troy. "It is important to have some solid momentum heading into the off season. Our group has been working great together and we are learning a lot as a team. The changes we have made are starting to take shape and that's exciting for everyone involved with our program."
