Race fans who have been itching to get a glimpse of the brand new racing surface of Route 66 Raceway can attend the ?Kicks at Route 66? 2004 Season opener on May 1 featuring Jet Cars and a fireworks show. The season schedule for 2004 includes two NHRA National Events, several Demo Derbies, Monster Trucks, manufacturer shows and much more. Super Chevy, Battle of the Imports, USAC and the NMRA Ford Nationals will return to the expanded schedule, while the AMA Flat Track Series will return to the Route 66 Dirt Oval for the first time since 2000. The two biggest drag racing events in the Chicago area will be the NHRA National events at Route 66 Raceway scheduled for May 20-23 and September 30-Oct 3. Every seat at Route 66 Raceway provides an excellent view of the 1/4-mile action. A special "Friday Night Under Fire" show of the Spring NHRA Nationals at Route 66 will include a free style motocross exhibition.
