NHRA AND US ARMY HOST CAREER EDUCATION DAY AT ROUTE 66 RACEWAY

The National Hot Rod Association will bring its Y.E.S. (Youth & Education Services) program, presented by the U.S. Army to Route 66 Raceway on May 21. The annual program focuses on the importance of goals and continued education, and also allows students to learn about and explore various career opportunities. Students and instructors from schools and youth groups will arrive in the morning and take part in a 30-45 minute presentation that features various speakers from NHRA, Don Schumacher Racing and the United States Army. The highlight of the event is when professional drivers Tony Schumacher, Angelle Savoie and Antron Brown speak to the students about their own experiences. The students will then have the remainder of the day to explore careers at the racetrack, while enjoying NHRA Drag Racing action. This program is free to all schools and youth groups, and is offered at 21 NHRA National Events in 2004. For more information on the NHRA Y.E.S. Program, presented by the U.S. Army, please contact NHRA Youth & Education Services at 626-250-2208.
