Matthew Alexander, vice president and general manager of Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois, will join John Jurkovic in co-hosting "Motorsports Weekly," a new Saturday morning motorsports talk show in Chicago on ESPN Radio 1000.

Jurkovic ("Jurko"), a former NFL player and motorsports fan, is also a member of Chicago's top-rated afternoon sports talk show on ESPN Radio 1000, "Mac, Jurko and Harry." This past February, Alexander joined Jurko during a one-hour NASCAR Preview show from Daytona International Speedway prior to the Daytona 500. The response from ESPN Radio's listeners inspired a weekly motorsports show.

The one-hour motorsports talk show will be broadcast on Chicago's ESPN Radio 1000, Saturday mornings from 9:00 am – 10:00 am (CDT). The first show will air Saturday, April 23, 2005.

"We're honored to have been asked to participate in the weekly motorsports show," said Alexander. "With the tremendous growth of motorsports in the Midwest, and Chicago in particular, I think a weekly program on the top-rated sports radio station in the market will only help take racing to the next level. This type of show gives the fast-growing motorsports fan base in this area a great forum to get their weekly fix of racing information."

"Motorsports Weekly" will cover all the latest news and information regarding the nation's top racing series, including NASCAR, IRL and NHRA. The show will also include interviews with top drivers and team owners in those racing circuits. Race fans can e-mail Alexander and Jurkovic their motorsports questions and comments to motorsportsweekly@espnradio1000.com.

"We're very excited to be the home of Motorsports Weekly," said Jim Pastor, general manager of ESPN Radio 1000. "Because of the rapidly growing interest in motorsports, as well as the demand from our listeners for increased motorsports coverage, we want to be the number one station race fans turn to for racing news. Motorsports Weekly will be a great addition to our programming line-up and an incredible opportunity for race fans to stay updated on motorsports."
