Hey race fans!

Don't miss your final chance to come out and test your drag racing skills at Route 66 Raceway's record-setting drag strip during the LAST Test & Tune event of the 2006 season on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Gates open at 4 p.m. Admission is $15; children 12 and under are free. Participants can purchase run cards for $25 per Test & Tune.

Test & Tunes are open time trials and testing opportunities for individuals looking to fine tune their drag racing skills, and are open to any class of vehicle, as long as it passes NHRA technical inspection set forth in the 2006 NHRA Rulebook. This is a day for the die hard drag racer to come out and play at Route 66 Raceway. During these events, there are no eliminations, no purses and no prizes or awards. For a complete schedule of Test & Tune dates, log onto www.route66raceway.com .

Later in the week, the Will County Sheriff's Challenge will make its way to Route 66 Raceway's record-setting drag strip for its last race of the season on Saturday, Sept. 30. Gates open at 9 a.m. Admission is $15 for adults; children 12 and under are free. This event will feature drag racing (including Top Sportsman, gamblers races, bike racing and high school competition), a car show, Mayor's Cup and the world's largest truck convoy.

The Will County Sheriff's Challenge is a race to raise money for the Wish Upon A Star Foundation and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. This is a time for families to come out and enjoy a day of racing, live entertainment and food - all for two great causes.
