Huge Crowd, Non-Stop Action Just Part of the Excitement Surrounding This Year's Monster Mash Event

Fans who attended Route 66 Raceway’s Monster Mash on Saturday, Oct. 7 had the chance to witness and even be a part of the non-stop action surrounding this year's Monster Truck event at the track's 1/2-mile dirt oval. Those who came out to the event were also part of the largest crowd at to ever attend a Monster Truck event at Route 66 Raceway.

Action on the uniquely designed course began with Excalibur mastering the figure-8 course, allowing him to be crowned champion of the Monster Truck race. Soon after, Avenger put on a show for the packed house and won the freestyle event. Also keeping the fans entertained were Freestyle Motocross drivers (who flew through the sty, doing one daredevil stunt after another) and the always-popular stock mud racers. Fans even had a chance be like the drivers and take their own ride in a real monster truck.

The thousands of children in attendance had to opportunity to enjoy a costume contest, face painting, pumpkin painting, a spooky car show, truck rides and trick or treating. The first 1500 children also received a special Halloween trick or treat bag with candy and a limited edition plush toy car courtesy of JEGS. There was also plenty of excitement for everyone else in attendance. A pre-race party allowed fans the chance to venture into the pits, stand next to their favorite monster trucks, take pictures and get autographs from the drivers of these amazing machines.
