Local NHRA Powerade Drag Racing PRo Stock motorcycle racer visits students at Joliet Central High School

Joliet Central High School’s automotive students got a surprise on from former student and current NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series Pro Stock motorcycle driver, Mike Kovacevich on Dec. 14, 2006. The Minooka, Ill., native was on hand to discuss the design of his Pro Stock motorcycle as well as answer questions from the students. Kovacevich (who owns a semi-dump truck company in Joliet) has been racing professionally since 1998 and calls Route 66 Raceway his home track. He frequents the record-setting, ¼-mile drag strip to participate in test and tune events throughout the season. Along with racing his Kawaski down the drag strip, the JTHS graduate also enjoys spending time racing snowmobiles and midgets.
