DRAG RACING RETURNS TO ROUTE 66 RACEWAY THIS WEEKEND!

The temperature isn't the only thing that's starting to heat up around the area. After a long winter, it's time for drag racing to make it's return to Route 66 Raceway for the 2009 racing season!

The exciting Rockett Brand Race Fuel E.T. Bracket Series presented by Gas City returns for it's first race of the season at the facility's 1/4-mile drag strip on Sunday, April 19. This unique class of auto racing pits drivers not only against each other, but also against the clock. They earn points for each round based on their individual runs. In addition, drivers compete for a cash purse and the opportunity to represent Route 66 Raceway in Indianapolis at the NHRA Division 3 Summit E.T. Bracket finals at the end of the season.

Admission to the Rockett Brand Race Fuel E.T. Bracket Series presented by Gas City race is $15, children 12 and under are free.

Before the Rockett Brand Race Fuel E.T. Bracket Series presented by Gas City racing season starts up, be sure to head out to Route 66 Raceway on Saturday, April 18 for the first Test & Tune of the 2009 season. This event consists of an open time trial and testing opportunity for individuals looking to fine-tune their drag racing skills.

Test & Tune is open to any vehicle as long as it passes NHRA technical inspection as set forth in the 2009 NHRA Rulebook. Since these participants are testing, they will be running as hard as they can to get every bit of performance from their machines. Also note that, during these events there are no eliminations and no purses. Admission to the event is $15, children 12 and under are free. Participants can purchase run cards for $25 for the night. Gates open at 9 a.m.
