BEST OF ALL-AMERICAN HEADS-UP RACING COMES TO ROUTE 66 THIS WEEKEND; MASSIVE CAR SHOWS FEATURE MORE THAN 50 AWARDS ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

NMRA/NMCA’s Nitto Tire Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing is a showcase of American-made muscle cars and hot rods, with a sprinkle of trucks and specialty vehicles in the mix. From the rows upon rows of gleaming show cars all vying for Best of Show to the drag racing on the track, the Nitto Tire Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing July 16-18, 2010 at Route 66 Raceway is a healthy mix of pure horsepower and speed.

This fifth-annual event is the biggest race on NMRA and NMCA’s schedules. Each group puts up their biggest names to try to bring home times on the track. The NMRA Ford Nationals is the nation’s top all-Ford motorsport show. The NMCA Edelbrock Muscle Car Nationals features the best in Ford vs. Chevy vs. Mopar heads-up drag racing. When those collide, excellent action is guaranteed.

Just pick your favorite car and manufacturer and cheer those on until the end.

Two car shows are on the docket for the weekend, with more than 50 awards to be given out each day. The Best of Show for GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles receive acrylic awards. The Overall Best of Show entry receives a 6-foot trophy.

Qualifying for participants is set for Friday. Gates open at 8 a.m. Eliminations begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

All tickets are sold at the door. Adult spectator tickets are $25 each day. Two-day passes for adult spectators are $45 (Saturday-Sunday). Additional special savings packages are available. Juniors 12 and under are free.
