ROUTE 66 RACERS HONORED AT NHRA DIVISION 3 BANQUET
While it has been nearly four months already since Team Route 66 Raceway’s ET Bracket Racers won the NHRA Summit Racing Series 2010 North Central Division Finals Team Spirit Award, we had the opportunity to relive the excitement once more at the 2010 NHRA North Central Division banquet. Unaware that we would be accepting this award on behalf of our racers, Route 66 Raceway Dragstrip Coordinator, Charlie Lindsey delivered an impromptu speech, praising the efforts of our racers. Three gigantic projection screens displayed the picture of our Route 66 Raceway “Bracket Brothers,” dressed in their matching team uniforms. Congratulations again, to all of our team representatives! Our grandstand camaraderie outshined twenty-one other NHRA Division 3 member tracks!
Also doing a fine job representing Route 66 Raceway were junior drag racers Bobby Bode and Mason Marino. Bode was honored for his NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Division Championship in the 8-9 year old category. Bode is also our 2010 Junior Sportsman track champion. Marino celebrated winning the Division 3 VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions 13-17 year old category. Marino finished fourth in Junior Modified points at Route 66 Raceway. Both racers made us very proud with their on-track performance and great acceptance speeches.
As a reminder, our 2010 Route 66 Raceway awards banquet is fast approaching.
