REPEAT FINALISTS FIND WAY TO POINTS LEAD
Repeat finalists Kenny King, Troy Bogner and Bob Foster used back-to-back final round appearances in the first two Rockett Brand Racing Fuel ET Bracket Series races to claim early leads in the Super Pro, Pro and Bike categories respectively.
Former track champion, John Schober of Orland Park, Ill. used an almost dead-on 5.011-second elapse time on his 5.01-second dial-in to win in Super Pro. Kenny King of Lacon, Ill. broke out by only 0.003-second en route to his second runner-up of 2011 and a 59-point lead in series standings.
Troy Bogner of Sparland, Ill. drove his 1968 Camaro to his second final round and first win of 2011 in the Pro category over Ricky Pena of Hickory Hills, Ill. Bogner has a strong, lead over second place John A Singleton Jr., who has raced Bogner in the semi-final round twice this year.
Bob Foster of Lansing, Ill. used an .015 reaction time to defeat Paul Waters of New Lenox, Ill. in a double break out final round race in the motorcycle category. Doing so, Foster joined the repeat finalists club and assumed the top spot in Bike season point standings.
In the Sportsman category, Cris Thompson of Paxton, Ill. defeated Bill Larson of Lemont, Ill. Previous race winner Steve Opielinski maintained his point lead with Larson and Thompson trailing him by 16 and 36 points respectively.
Damian Begler of Wilmington, Ill. drove his 1988 Ford Mustang to the High School class win over Jake Crnkovich of McCook, Ill. Begler, Crnkovich and previous race winner Craig Schober are in a close race for the point lead with Begler ahead by only four points.

The Rockett Brand Racing Fuel ET Bracket Series will return for action on Sunday, July 17 while the Saturday, June 11 Burndown at Sundown, June 23-26 NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing and the July 7-10 O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals take over the track for the next month. A Friday night Test & Tune is next scheduled for June 17 with the second Junior Dragster race and Team Demolition Derby on Saturday, June 18.
