Pro Stock Snowmobile 2012 Division 3 Schedule Announced & Includes Race During the Burndown at Sundown!
The North Central Division will once again feature Pro Stock Snowmobiles at selected 2012 events. Pro Stock Snowmobile racing made its North Central debut in 2005 with a series of events established the following year that qualified racers for an exhibition staged during the Brainerd national event. The four-race 2012 schedule will include the Burndown at Sundown at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill., June 8-10.

Similar to Pro Stock Motorcycle, 2000 and newer-model production snowmobiles run heads up on a Pro tree with a maximum 1,000 cc engine and a minimum weight of 650 lbs. including rider and gear. New this year two-cylinder engines will be permitted to utilize electronic fuel injection. The more popular three-cylinder engines in use will continue to be restricted to carburetors.
About the Burndown at Sundown!
When the sun goes down, the stars come out for Route 66 Raceway’s most explosive night of drag racing – the Burndown at Sundown! on Saturday, June 9. Returning for its second consecutive running, the event will now feature two “Burndown Showtimes” at 5 & 9 PM, providing twice the excitement and thrills. Fire breathing jet cars will highlight a diverse blend of drag racing action. Paired with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, over 450 racers converge on Route 66 Raceway from throughout the country.
