“Friday Nights at 66” to Open with a BANG! on May 25
Jet Dragsters & Tri-Chevy Car Club to Ignite Friday Night!
Route 66 Raceway’s newest program, “Friday Nights at 66” will open with a BANG on Friday, May 25 with a special Jet Car finale. The newly introduced Friday night program will celebrate the American spirit, embody the heritage of historic Route 66 and fuel our affinity with the automobile. From Test & Tune style “Fun Runs” to the cruise-in car corral, Friday Nights at 66 are about having fun, going fast and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts.
Poised to make a lot of noise around the first-ever Friday Nights at 66, Scott Holdridge and Danny Sullivan, drivers of the Air Force One and Chicago Rush jet dragsters, will please race fans with a fire breathing jet car finale to close the night. Additional features and theme nights are to be announced for the remainder of the Friday Nights at 66 events.
Each night will also have a host car club. Tri-Chevy will serve as the first host car club on Friday, May 25 and return again on August 24. The Cruise-In Car Corral will be located behind the South Grandstands, between the dragstrip and pit area. All hot rodders are invited to join the fun and bring their car along. There are no show awards and no fees to display your car.
Racers are invited to participate in the Test & Tune style “Fun Runs.” From the first time beginner driving a street car to the seasoned veteran in a purpose built dragster, we encourage racers to take part in what will be exciting nights of racing.
