Refreshed look and feel signals future direction of Route 66 Raceway

Joliet, Ill. – June 27, 2012 – This afternoon Route 66 Raceway debuted a refreshed logo and brand direction at a press conference in downtown Chicago with NHRA stars Tony Schumacher, Courtney Force, Antron Brown and Robert Hight on hand kicking off the 15th running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals taking place this weekend.

The refreshed logo maintains the classic Route 66 shield and wings that race fans have come to know, but has been updated with a new bold font and brushed aluminum feel.

“We are very proud of our rich history at Route 66 Raceway and are fortunate to have a state-of-the art drag racing facility in a community such as Joliet that embraced us 14 years ago when we stamped our name along historic Route 66” said Scott Paddock, Route 66 Raceway president. “Our refreshed logo signals our continued commitment to delivering memorable experiences to fans of Route 66 Raceway for years to come.  We hope to bring all that historic Route 66 has come to stand for - freedom, speed, adventure, community, and the celebration of the American Spirit, to life for our fans not only through the on-site look and feel, but also with the addition of new events like the ‘Route 66 Classic’ and the inaugural ‘Downright Diesels’ in 2012.”

On June 28, Route 66 Raceway welcomes the return of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals, which kick into high gear on Friday with two nights of qualifying.  The weekend wraps up with the prestigious Championship Sunday, which will feature a morning track walk for all ticket holders, pre-race and winners circle access, and for the first time ever, FREE parking. In addition, every ticket purchased will also serve as a pit pass, meaning each fan will receive an up-close and personal look at their favorite cars.
