Drecksler is 2012 Recepient of Servicemaster Clean Extra Mile Award at Chicagoland Speedway
JOLIET, ILL. (September 18, 2012) – Chicagoland Speedway employees and volunteers were cheering for their fellow teammate Keith Drecksler this past weekend. Drecksler is not a NASCAR driver and didn’t compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race Sunday, but he was recognized for his unfailing work ethic and dedication by being named this year’s ServiceMaster Clean Extra Mile Award recipient at the Chicago area track.
Drecksler – a Peotone, Ill., resident – has been a member of the Chicagoland Speedway fire and safety team since 2001, focusing a large portion of his time on operating and maintaining the fire and safety, and clean-up equipment.
Speedway management boasts Drecksler is the go-to guy for the 130 events hosted each season at Chicagoland, as well as the drag racing facilities.
“Keith has been one of the anchors on our fire [and] safety team in its execution of 130 events at Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway,” said Vice President of Operations Ken Kohrs. “He’s usually among the first at work each day to get equipment ready for service, and because he insists on cleaning the equipment each night, he’s among the last to leave. Keith definitely goes the extra mile each and every day.”
Since its inception in 2010, the ServiceMaster Clean Extra Mile Award has recognized more than 30 track team members across the country. The award recipients can be any member of the track staff or volunteers who work in a service-oriented position. Track management personnel select the winner.
Each award winner’s name is engraved on a plaque that is displayed at the track where the individual works or volunteers. A personal plaque also is presented to recipients during their track’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend.
“ServiceMaster Clean was built on a foundation that values people and appreciates those who go the extra step,” said Tom Coba, president of ServiceMaster Clean. “Keith embodies those core attributes that we seek when identifying the ServiceMaster Clean Extra Mile Award winner. Similar to ServiceMaster Clean’s 40,000-person network, he’s dedicated, committed to excellence and well-deserving of this recognition.”
Just like a ServiceMaster Clean caution signals a call for quick and professional action by the ServiceMaster track services team and equipment on the race track, it’s the same when you call

ServiceMaster Clean is in its fourth season as the official sponsor of caution periods at 21 International Speedway Corp. (ISC), Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI) and Dover International Speedway tracks.
