Joliet, Ill. – March 22, 2016 – Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway are inviting families to kick-off an eventful season of racing action by attending its inaugural “Go Green for Spring” event Presented by JULIE, Inc. on Saturday, April 30. This year’s Go Green for Spring event takes the place of the Easter Egg Dash typically held the week before Easter.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with guests entering the facility through Gate 4 off Laraway Road and continuing to follow all appropriate signage leading to the infield. A $10 donation per vehicle will be required upon entry to benefit  R.A.C.E., Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway’s nonprofit foundation.

Starting at 10 a.m., a rare, event-exclusive offer will be available to all participants: contributors can take their own vehicles onto Chicagoland Speedway for two parade laps around the 1.5-mile oval that the stars of NASCAR will race on during the Sprint Cup weekend September 15-18. This opportunity is available for only an additional $10! For safety reasons, the track laps are limited to passenger vehicles only, attendees on motorcycles or in oversized vehicles will not be able to participate in track laps.

In addition to the on-track opportunity, Go Green for Spring will feature a variety of guests in and around the Media Center, including:

  • JULIE, Inc. will sponsor a ‘Design a Pot” craft located in Garage 4 and will feature special prizes for children while presenting an opportunity to learn more about safely beginning any digging project
  • The Learning Experience Academy of Early Education in Crest Hill will host bird feeder building with the first 100 children who visit their display
  • NASCAR Green and the Arbor Day Foundation will supply saplings (young trees) to the first 500 children in attendance
