JOLIET, Ill. (October 10, 2019) — Route 66 Raceway announced today that tickets for the 2020 Route 66 NHRA Nationals are on sale. The renewal period is the optimal time for fans to receive the best-priced tickets to the 2020 Route 66 NHRA Nationals. In addition, fans can take advantage of a monthly payment plan for the first-time ever.

The 2020 Route 66 NHRA Nationals will feature three new racing classes – NHRA Factory Stock Showdown, Pro Mod and Top Fuel Harley – adding fresh content to the 2020 race weekend.

Top Fuel Harley will take to the Route 66 Raceway for the first time ever in 2020. With 1000 horsepower engines and speeds in excess of 225mph, fans will experience the fastest bikes and riders in the world.

With ever-increasing interest from racers, fans and manufacturers, the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown series features the best of American muscle. Competitors line up against each other for a heads-up contest showcasing drag-racing ready, factory-built vehicles, including Ford Mustang Cobra Jets, Dodge Challenger Drag Paks and Chevrolet COPO Camaros. To win requires an elegant combination of technical tuning and superior driving.

In 2019 four experienced class winners were able to conquer the tricky track conditions on Sunday to secure a win. Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Tommy Johnson Jr. (Funny Car) Deric Kramer (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle).

Pro Mod officially returns to Route 66 Raceway in 2020 for the first time in 15 years. Last featured in 2004 as an exhibition class, spectators will see a full line up of cars in 2020 ranging from 1941 body style to late model Dodge Vipers with a variety of engine types, reaching speeds of 250mph.

“The return to a July weekend for our Route 66 NHRA Nationals is a welcome change for fans, racers and teams alike,” said Route 66 Raceway President Scott Paddock. “In addition to the date change, we will usher in three new classes – Top Fuel Harley, Pro Mod and Factory Stock Showdown – that will add to the already amazing four days of racing action.”

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will kick off the 2020 season in Pomona, California at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, February 6-9.
